why does yahoo differ so much from google results

It depends on the ranking algorithms of both.

Both yahoo and google use different algorithm that is why the results of the ranking are different.

They use different algorithms thats all but you can turn your google efforts to help you in yahoo and msn as well

Beside, algorithms being different, they index at different speed, while G has indexed my page couple of times. Y still has my old domain parking page. That much of providing good results. G is incomparable better, because it successfully catches your site content niche, and that is what put it on no.1.

It is because google and yahoo both have different algorithms, if you get a good listing at google, it is not guaranteed that you will rank equally at yahoo.
