I tend to find that yahoo places a lot more qudos on domain names than google. If you look atteh results from a yahoo search you will see that the top ones have the searched words in the domain name.

From my experience Yahoo! does like social bookmarking and Q&A websites (like their own Yahoo! Answers).

If this is the case, why not just purchase a few different domain names that contain your targeted search words, and then redirect these domains to your actual website? Or turn them into satellite sites.

I've also been struggling with yahoo.. I'm definitely not going to pay for their directory, great link but it's expensive!

Any free directory sites that perform better with ranking in yahoo?

Yahoo! is the biggest of the three major engines and includes an enormous network of websites. To optimize and rank highly on Yahoo!, as with any of the major engines, specific areas need to be addressed such as site structure, keyword density, backlinks and aging.

I am new to all this seo stuff. But I have read that you need to view it like eating an elephant "one bite at a time".

To put it simple if your pages are well done you will rank well in all search engines. Its the simplist of things that makes or breaks a page in the search engines.
