Its a brave move by the yahoo. Although, it was a too costly deal but it will increase the the value of facebook.

Yahoo is doing what it can reconnect as a social platform. The company has acquired and the Space and Twitter to reach, Zynga and Facebook deal. Now, this will further expand with the world's largest social network, will announce an integrated port of people on Yahoo sites, Facebook profiles of their activities.
