    Default Yahoo Local Listings

I had heard about the Yahoo Directory, but with its $299 price tag, I decided to pass. Today I realized there is a Yahoo Local Search too, listings.local.yahoo.com, and it's free. It took less than 5 minutes to sign up so I figure, why not?

Orderliness will always bring you more visitors. Clumsy store navigation can make your store as unpalatable as a fly in a soup! Good store design entails much more than eye appealing graphical presentation; and lucid navigation is probably the 2nd most important area. A good navigation is self-flowing and designed to pre-understand the usual pattern your Yahoo store visitors would follow. A good navigation also helps you promote your best deals, best products and best offers at the right places on the computer screen.

No search engine causes harm to the website. And also yahoo is also one of the good search engine. The ranking of the website depends upon certain terms.

I ordered featured listing in Yahoo Local about 3 years ago. Seems to do ok and worth the $10/month. I have many family and friends that use local yahoo to find businesses and that was enough evidence for me to move forward.

$299 sounds like a big price tag. Has anyone paid the $299 fee? If so, was it worth it because I am thinking about paying it.

Dont they offer a free business directory listing like Google does? It would only make sense.

No but they will not charge for non-profit.

It is worth it on several counts:

    1. This directory is trusted and cached by Google
    2. It will help with your Yahoo! rankings
    3. It will help with your Google rankings
    4. inclusion in this directory is more than just a single link. You are included into other countries (e.g. au dot dir dot yahoo dot com, et al.)
    5. you get global exposure
    6. you keep an editor at Yahoo! employed.
    7. You fend off total Google domination.

    Default Yahoo Local Listings

Would you say that Yahoo Directory listings are worth 300 or would that be a waste of money?

    Please share your opinions.

    Thank you.
