Default Links from this forum to your website...

Has anyone seen links from this forum to their site show on Google or Yahoo???
Try it with link:www.yourwebsite.com in yahoo or google search.
I am not sure if googlebot or other spiders are blocked from crawling the forum pages....

I heave seen couple of forum pages indexed with my site name. So it works. Maybe I am wrong but I've seen on some SEO sites and blogs that G does not give high value to the links from forum signatures.

Up to this date, this confuses me, is there a difference in value between forum signatures and other backlink sources?

Jenie0109, you are not the only one... I have seen "nofollow" attribute in some forum signatures across different forums. This forum has target="_blank" which is used to open link in new browser window. So from web design point of view there is no reason why they shouldn't be indexed. But what remains unknown is: is there some algorithm in G crawler which detects signatures? I know it sounds silly because there is a ton of different forum systems, but who knows? It's the Big G.

    Cheers

p.s. If someone has more knowledge on this I would appreciate sharing that with us.

Nothing in the algorithm Google would share with us...that's for sure, but it all comes down to relevance and this being a real estate site any and all links to real estate related businesses would be of value. The only other factor we could take into consideration would be the page PR and that would depend on the strength of the pages linking to the page where our signatures appear.

As I know google and Yahoo count forum back links. I checked it once by an online free tool.

How do you check for the backlinks Google can find? Is that with the webmaster tool?
