Review my site please!
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find social networks to get lots of reviews on the website I've created for our team. Please look at our Panama City real estate website and give me your honest opinion.
I actually created this whole website by hand, including all the images, etc. So any feedback would be very appreciated.
Thank you all!Last edited by Chief Tutor; 02-27-2008 at 07:20 PM.

Hi there!
I'm a web designer and marketing specialist here in Durham, NC. I took a look at your website and just wanted to say congrats! I think you have a great site. Your meta tags are in order, and you seem to provide much relevant content for your visitors, which is excellent. One of the better real estate websites I've seen!
I will say that your graphic in your header image is slightly off (the woman's legs & feet don't match up). This is a minor issue, but is a bit distracting.
You have incorporated some great features in your listings, including the mouse-over enlargement of photos. It is also great that you've placed specific calls to action on each and every page. This will encourage your visitors to sign up for your alerts, and help you build your list.
Just one suggestion...it would be a great idea to include a separate privacy policy page on your site. I have searched a bit, but have yet to find anything relating to your privacy policy. This is one of the main things that home seekers have such an issue with in regards to real estate. Even I have experienced Realtors who spam my inbox, all because I wanted a bit more info. This will be a turn-off if site visitors cannot easily locate your privacy policy from evch page they visit. This is especially important since you collect names and email addresses on your site. Be sure also to at least link to your privacy policy from the confirmation or next page of the alert sign-up process. This will reassure your visitors and encourage them to complete sign-up.
Other than that, great job and good luck!

Wow. Thanks so much for the review!
In regards to the image displacement, for some reason that only happens in Firefox. Not in Internet Explorer. Weird, huh? I've never been able to figure it out
I would love to write a privacy policy, but have no idea where to start. Do you know where I can find info on writing one? I don't want to just copy someone and reword it to fit me.

Sure! The system will not yet allow me to post links, but if you perform a search on Google for "how to write a privacy policy for a website" the first listing that comes up has a very informative article to walk you through the process.
Their site's own policy is actually very in-depth. Most sites do not go that much into detail as long as the user understands in what ways there info is protected. When writing the policy for our site, I didn't go very in-depth, but I did make sure that our visitors understand that we don't buy, sell, rent or otherwise distribute there information.
You may also want to explain in your policy that their info is only being used to provide them with alerts or information they requested, and that you are in compliance with the Can Spam Act. The last thing is that you may want to look into forms that provide IP logging. This will record the IP address and time stamp of each form submission, which will be helpful if you ever experience spam complaints in the future.
Good luck, and hope that helps!

Everything 360 said. I'll have some time tomorrow to look over the code and see if I can fix the code issue with firefox for you and paste it here.
One other thing. Consider maybe linking your Javascript and CSS to external files. You can place these snippets in the <head> </head> of your code.
CSS Example:
<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>
JAVAscript Example:
<script src="nav.js" type="text/javascript"></script/>
This will help clean up your code a bit. Let me know if you have questions with this.
