I need a new website
I'm looking at a few different options for a new website. Does anyone know of any self build sites that are easy besides drupal or template based.

I have a couple of people that I do a revenue share with for my website. It is currently under construction, but I will show that to you as soon as it's up again. Personally, I don't think (unless you are a professional web designer or specializing in SEO) that you would be better off doing the website yourself; just my opinion, though.

Chris,
I work for an internet solutions company based out of Ohio. I don't cover your area (I'm over the southwestern states), but I would be happy to refer you to someone in your area if you would like to learn more. You can check out our services by clicking on the link below. There are some good self build sites, but I can not think of any that are not template based. Good Luck and let me know if there is anything that I can do to assist you.

chrishummel, what kind of site are you interested in ? You're looking for one with an idx ? Most of the ones which are out there are based on templates and usually there are also free templates which you can use. Give us more info on what are you interested in

DIY isn't that bad
Hey man, I had that dilemma and I just went for it. You can check out my real estate site and tell me what you think. I had no prior knowledge of web design but I had ambition. Now I am working on getting people to view it. That is probably more tricky than building the actual site.
Check mine out and see what you think www dapruettpropertiesinc dot com
Hope this might be alittle encouraging...

Go for it
I say go for it DYI, or at least give it a try. You'll want to get a good user-friendly web development software (I use Dreamweaver) and just follow a few tutorials and take advantage of all the info on the web. For database and PHP info, php.net and mysql.com are great resources.
If you have any specifics, I'm happy to help.

I have been looking around for a while until I decided that I am building it all by myself from scratch. I wanted my site to be not using scripting language (too slow), to be mobile friendly and self sufficient. So I am programming all. See mynewestate.com. Tell me how you hate it
