    Default Hey there

    Greetings,

Overall, I like what you are trying to do with the theme of the website.

I do not think the color scheme is right yet. It is hard to get it perfect.

I love the top navigation menu. You may want to try a different font type for the left menu.

Your logo is fantastic. I would not change that at all.

Your blog section seems like it goes on forever. You may want to split that up into several pages. Some of your pages have a lot of space at the bottom due to all the affiliate images on the left.

I really like the about us section.

You have a great contact form. It is a bit more organized than the property search. You may want to tweak the layout of that form.

I also glanced at your source code. You have some javascript outside of the head section. You also have some code after the </html> statement. You may want to check out a W3C validator. That will make your site look better across various browsers.

You selected a great programming language to do your site in - Coldfusion.

Lastly, I work work on your SEO a bit as well. You have a lot of keywords on your home page keyword meta tag. I would select your top 10 and optimize your pages with those. Until you build your PR rating, I would select keywords that are not really competitive. Once your PR rating improves and you start to see results in the search engines for your keywords, I would move to slightly more competitive keywords.

    Hope these suggestions help.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

Thanks for the input, pushing to get the site done and overlooked one or two items you mentioned.

Talk to me more about the color scheme- I know it still needs work and any ideas would be appreciated.

Didn't worry a lot about the meta keywords because not much weight put there anymore. Mainly working on links which have helped push the site to the front page of Google for Zionsville Indiana Realtor already and sites only been up for a month.

I agree with the blog comment and there are other issues I want to address there as well.

    Thanks again!

    Default Hey there

    Hello again,

Have you tried the background color as white on the outside?

Maybe even try an off white or a light gradiant that fades into your yellow color scheme.

At the bottom of the page, maybe you can do something fancy like you did near the top of the page.

Its hard to draw on here heh

I realize you want to get your website up and running asap. I would make sure it is completely finished before releasing it to the spiders though. Otherwise, you may find yourself playing catch up

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

    Hi James,

I agree with Travis about the House / Condo Search, it is a lot to look at for the first time. Perhaps think about switching to a drop down menu layout. As far as theme of your site goes, I think it is great and a really good way to get users to remember your site.

On your About Honeycomb Page the title states, "This is the page of the Web site where I try and tell you how great I am, and why you should use my services when buying or selling your home". Website is one word and although I appreciate your honesty, I would suggest simply saying, "Jim Wells Biography"; or "About Jim Wells"; maybe even state a question, "Why choose Jim Wells?".

Another thing I noticed while I was writing this, was that that your opening line reads, "I will try use this page". First off you forgot to put the word "to" in there to say "try to use.." But, I would scratch the word "try" altogether. This makes it so you sound unsure about what it is that you have to offer. I would state,"This website will provide you with..."

I'm sorry to say this, but I laughed to myself a bit when I read your biography. Not all of it! Just the part that reads, "have been married to the same woman for 14 years". I just found it amusing how you stated that! Just a suggestion, but maybe you could replace that with, "I have been married for 14 years"; or, "I have a wonderful wife of 14 years"; or something along those lines.

Please remember that even the simplest of typos makes one look unprofessional and in your line of business you can't afford to appear the slightest bit unprofessional.

Also, look into some of the posts on the forum for marketing your website. There are some really good advisers here who may be able to help you drive more traffic to your site.

    Best of luck!
