Need Help
Hello all i am new to Real Estate but thats not my problem. I need advice on my current website. I think i have been duped
by the sales person selling the site and wonder if it can be salvaged to any degree. Money is of course allways a factor for new agents. If i had to scrap the current site what would be a good alternative company to go with. The site i refer to is z57 my second site is provided free from my company and association.

What do you want to salvage on your site? I often recommend open-realty for an agent starting and for well established agents and offices. It's a complete realty package including web site, listing management and membership management. Agents and brokers can not out grow it. Did I mention it is free. If you need help setting it up you can hire someone at open-realty.org to install it for you for as little as a $25 donation to OR.

your site that the office supplies offers tools to start as a new agent and a basic presence. The Z57 template is somewhat of the same. It is another mass market product and is difficult to penatrate into a real estate market. Unless you have the energy to remove and rewrite content pages and obtain a mass quanity of quality links in order to push the content management system and duplicate content up in the search engine, you would be better of to wait untill you are in a position to create something unique and custom, remember search engines are getting smarter about duplication and harder on template sites.
just my two cents.
however ranking a template can be done look at www.phoenixhomes.com
1. site was registered and live in 98'
2. Matt worked extremely hard to write 600 pages of unique content.
3. Matt a skilled SEO, has obtain hundreds of quality links.
I dont want to say it cant be done.Last edited by STVP; 11-23-2005 at 10:29 AM.

Ahhh, shucks STVP...
Thanks for the endorsment, but I wouldn't dare call myself an SEO.
My site is an Advanced Access site, if interested my contact is Tricia Colagrossi @ 1-888-902-4653 X 1023.
I have two AA sites and one Point2Agent site...
http://www.PhoenixHomes.com for Pheonix Real Estate, by AA
http://www.ParadiseValleyLiving.com for Paradise Valley Real Estate, by AA
http://www.ScottsdaleAzLiving.com for Scottsdale Real Estate, By Point2
Plus, a Blogger.com site that I host on my own but use it to blog about real estate news http://www.ArizonaRealEstateNews.com and to drive traffic to my other three sites.
Point2 has free sites for beginners which offers many cool tools and has the look and feel of an HTML site. But if you like the system, you'll most likely want to upgrade to a paid one.
As with any site that is templated, you'll need to put a lot of work into it. PhoenixHomes.com was a struggle (but well worth the effort). Just look at my Paradise Valley site (click on it), it's what you can expect from an AA site "out of the box". I've had it two years and never seem to find the time to fully customize it. One cool thing that might lean you towards AA if you are considering a template site is that their new version 4.0 is coming out this spring and I have some inside info that tells me it is going to be well worth the wait. Super cool new features coming that should help anyone, who puts a little effort in their site, rank well.
Hope this helps! (BTW, I never have liked Z57 sites, but not nearly as much as I dis-like #1Expert sites, yuck!).Matt Pellerin, A Phoenix Realtor

I agree some fine tuning is needed with Sam's site. I need to add some authority links to community sites and read through the text to make sure it reads well.
Thanks for the help man. Happy thanksgiving!
