Does having .asp hurt
Hello another question for you guys/girls.
I have a template site powered by Top Producer.
My home page is my website address /home.asp
Does this hurt my page rank or Search Engine Position with google?
It seems when searching for a keyword phrase-Milford CT Real Estate- some (a Lot) of the websites that rank higher then mine (I'm #93) are not very good some have a lot of ads and no content. Just wondering if this was bringing my site down.

Thanks Matt
Thank you for the helpful hint!!
If I get rid of the <home> then I lose the tab to navigate home from anypage.

Just rename all your .asp files into normal .html/.htm, whilest inserting
AddType application/x-httpd-asp .asp .htm .html
line into your .htaccess file.

The site is a Top Producer site
If I were to rename all files it still puts an .asp at the end of the page. Its a template site from Top Producer/Realtor.com

Some template sites limit how much you can change the coding. Whether pages end in .asp, .php or .html shouldn't affect your ranking.

It actually does not matter what the extension is for the page. Some pages are generated with html, php, or asp. I have a website for my wife that uses .asp for the file extension for the pages themselves and this does not affect the search engines. I just built a page which focuses on a property that a long trail spans the entire Pinellas county area. As you can see the URL for it is .com/pages/PinellasTrail.aspx and while the "pages" part of its name is not helpful, it is well titled to suit the content of the page. This is ideal for page naming convention.
