There are so many out there it would make your mind spin! I've had so many agents tell me they don't need a site, don't want a site, and have never had a site. Many people still do not understand how a website can help them. They think because they never had one before, that they don't need one now. They do not understand that if they are doing good without a website, having a website could make them do even better.
Someday maybe they will understand.

I think that today, having a website is a must. Even if it has just a bit more information than a contact card. But the best way is offering all the necessary information to the visitor. Functionality is primary goal, ever if you are SEO guru and on first page of Google,Yahoo or MSN, if your site is rubbish and it provides no interesting info, it's no good. So it is not just important to have a site, but it is far more important to have good and usable web site.
These are mine two cents...

I agree scout. A lot of agents I talk to do not want anything more out of a website than what they already have, and what they have is generally not very good. Some agents do have nice sites, but many agents have a site that looks as if it was built in 1999 and they do not understand why that site is hurting their business, not helping it.
Many agents do not want to pay a monthly fee so they end up with sites that do not have any listings on them at all. I think many agents, especially here in California, are so worried about their next check that spending a few extra dollars a month is something they are not willing to do. Hopefully soon the market will start to pick up.Steps Marketing, Inc.

Everything has it's cost, and negligence also. When they realize how much web site could improve business, they will. If they don't care that means that they are not good enough for the RE business too. Developing new and functional web site could take a lot of time and money, but it will pay off definitively.

It will be better if you can mention the prices, so that people who are interested will directly contact you.

Here are a few questions regarding future RE websites. What will future RE websites be like? What features will stand out? Will commercial apps or open source apps like open-realty dominate? Add your own.
It is considered wise to stand on the shoulders of giants but foolish to put yourself in front of them.
