I am not sure how many IT guys are here-- but Fireworks is good if you are not. I personally code by hand and use Fireworks and Photoshop for JUST imaging. Some people may use for slicing, but its alot cleaner just code it yourself.

That way you have complete control over how SEO-friendly your site is.

The problem with slicing pages in Fireworks is that they are divided into tables. Which some webmasters frown upon. While Dreamweaver is made SPECIFICALLY for web development so you have a bit more control over your use of DIVs, TABLEs, etc. I would recommend that you use Dreamweaver for your web development and Fireworks for your imaging.

There are also a lot of other things that go into your development such as scripting language, meta tags, keyword density, etc. Which is why SEO becomes such a technical topic.

    I hope this helps!

    yes it did thanks.
Yeah i currently got done with the websites, im almost done with the luxury one, i used dreamworks to format it, and i used photoshop and fireworks for the imaging. I didnt know much at 1st, so i went with what i thought i could do, i found out real quick that using fireworks as a template maker was not a good idea. so i had to restart and start over, now i think i have a decent site, still isnt all the way done but it is very attractie

    Default Great advice

Listen to stubbs, he hit it right on the head. Everything is about control when it comes to design./SEO. Imaging and coding go hand in hand when it comes to designing for your page. That said you should individualize the process so use Fireworks for imaging only. I use Photoshop and Dreamweaver myself so I understand what stubbs was saying so follow that great advice.

    Default Yes it is fine.

The only thing is that fireworks makes PNG files so they are a little less popular than JPEG files.

Some sites do not read PNG but you can always convert them. Even using a simple paint program.

There's some great information here. I primarily use fireworks and photoshop for images and code the rest. it does give the most control and looks very smooth when finished. dreamweaver is a great program and I need to update to the newest version, so many options.
