    Default Real Estate website tours

    Hi all,

1- I would like to ask what are the best colors to be used in designing a virtual tour or a slide show when promoting a property??

2- Do you think that the end user "the buyer' prefers simplicity or attractiveness?? in other words; does he prefer to load the page quickly and check few pick of the property or he may prefer waiting a little bit till a FLASH slide show begins "flash is dynamic and more attractive"

3- any thoughts or preferences regarding the tour themes and/or templates??

    your feedback is much appreciated
    Saleh

Speed is better in my opinion, optimize it so it runs fast and efficiently with nice pictures on it. We live in an impatient world.

Yes, speed is important. If you add a flash intro or slideshow, give always the opportunity to skip it so they don't have to wait.

I saw some sites that have a flash intro where the user can not skip the intro. I can tell you they did not have a lot of vistors.

i would definitely go with a flash site. It just makes the site alot nicer. Definitely have a site that is quick. I hate a slow site.

Default i prefer an hybrid site

And when i say "hybrid" i mean, using different technolgies. First of all you need to add as much text as you can. Quality content, will make the visitors come back for more. Flash banners and flash gadgets are ok, but a full flash site is bad option for a real estate site.
Also you need to optimize your code, compress css and js files, optimize images (jpegs), use ajax in particular cases in order to improve the loading time. Fast = good!

Keep it light and simple, simplicity means more, you can use jquery, mootools for your slideshow but do not use a full flash slide show, you can make a hybrid method to improve your interface

flash can be pretty bad for seo purposes though. unless done right. it could be ok if it's just a presentation.

Why not offer your visitors a choice based on their connection speed? Let them choose if they want to see flash or not.
