I always like to prefer Linux Hosting, as this is very reliable.

Iv'e had both linux and windows hosting and they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Linux is more common because it is open source and therefore cheaper than a windows server.

As far as the disadvantages it will require a more technical savvy person to maintain, as long as there is a control panel like cpanel installed you will be able to do everything you would need to.
