Web Hosting has to do with where a web page or a web site "lives" to be served up to the rest of the Internet. In order for your webpage to even be seen, it has to exist on a server somewhere that has an Internet connection. When people request your website for example say you had a site called james9888.com - that site is pulled from the Web Host and served up to whoever made the request for your site.
