What would be some good keep word searches for real estate in general? I am looking to help promote our real estate school web site and can use some help with the key word searches.

Perhaps searching for the term "Keyword suggestion tool" would be a good start.

You're never going to make it to the top of a highly competitive search term like "Real Estate." There's too much competition.

Try going for something that is less searched, but that nobody else has taken advantage of. You might also want to try to work on misspelled words or words were somebody has used an abbreviation, like "realestate schools" or "RE schools." Be creative and install Google Analytics so that you can track the keywords and adjust the ones that don't work.

If you can't define "real estate" with a geographic location then I totally agree.

I think it will be better to start with adwords.google.com. Here you can get good number of kewords and also based on the search volume.
