Default Add Search to Your Site - Make $$$

As your real estate web site gets larger and larger, it's a good idea to add search capabilities to your web site. There are numerous code snippets out there to add local search to your site, but why not make a cents each time someone uses search on your site? Granted, you probably won't meet the minimum $100 payout balance each month - heck, it might take a year or more to get to that minimum balance running just G search. But it is free money.

If you're not familiar with the Google AdSense, now is the time to check it out. You do not have to place AdSense advertising on your web site to use Google search on your site.

As far as running Google ads on your site goes, some folks do not run Adsense advertising on their site because they do not want to lose potential clients to a competitor - that's understandable. But remember, Google does allow you to block URL addresses from showing up in ads on your site. If you take the time, you can block all or most of the real estate ads from showing up on your site.

FWIW, I do run Adsense on a number of sites, and while the TOS prevents me from telling you how much I make each month, I can tell you that I am happy with the program.

Adsense also forces Google to acknowledge new pages deep within your site long before it might ordinarily index them.

Google is meant to have 2 spiders and I haven't tested this this year but last year...

    Googlebot - indexes the web
    MediaPartners - indexes for Adsense

Except that mediapartners rarely came near my site but Googlebot would be along with 30 minutes of a brand new page displaying ads. It wouldn't crawl beyond the page and it's job was just to an interim scan.

It makes sense to me that if you are adding new pages just adding a tiny adsense text ad must help your site get indexed because you are pushing the site to the top of the pile constantly.

It also makes sense to make the most of adsense to generate revenue.

    However...

If you have a hostile relationship with any competitors you will need to check the ads that are shown as they can target your site so that their ads are shown. They can purchase new domains to make it harder for you to block them. You won't just be able to walk away. I currently block about 20 domains. Block too many and there may be no ads to show.

Adsense is very sophisticated and I use it on some of my sites. Google have done a great job with it and I would recommend considering if it is useful on your site.

I have to admit that I was reluctant to use the Adsense program. But actually after seeing someone elses post on a mortgage forum and his reasoning I decided to give it a shot.

I have been extremely pleased. If I get 300 visitors a day and only 3 inquiries what happened to the other 297 visitors? They backed out of my site and went somewhere else. Lets face it we all want each visitor to be a conversion but obviously its not realistic. 90% of the web visitors are bored @#$ at work just wasting time till 5pm. So I figure If they are going to use my site they may as well leave me a tip.

As the post above I guess we can not say how much we get but I do get a check every month. Its more than gas money but not enough to buy groceries
