Considering how many people are using broadbands and wifi (which at some point can be very slow), having a website with good loading speed will definitely be useful. Having a fast site can have less bounce rate than those who are slow. One way that people can see how they can speed up their websites is by the use of Google Webmasters Tools. They have suggestions about your site (once you have it enrolled it will all be about your site).
