How Important is Website Design when it comes to Real Estate websites?
I have seen may attractive website and good design is one of the factor that allow user to stop and stay on the website.
Do you think for real estate website a good design is necessary? If yes then what kind of design you prefer... whats your take on it?

Whenever you are using a website for business, the design is very important. If potential customers visit your site and it is hard to navigate, and has no content they will leave (or bounce). People do not have the time to drive from house to house and a solid website with easy navigation and a lot of homes will make all the difference in the world.
My take on it.

Thank you Scott for your Interest in the post and your valuable reply! but what do you think a design like flash (considered to be the most interactive and user engaging design) but is this Good for the website that sales online or may be not but is this kind of design going to help in their business?

Agreed But...
Agreed! but i think we should wait and see the good coming in. I think there are great ways you can get crawled in search engine with the flash site and can get better rankings (you have to play smart) and i have done that.
Why i would not recommend Flash for Real Estate or eCommerce websites is the time load flash take to Open and the video player... more of the new people (new to computer) have this pugin missing problem which destroy user experience...(same case as silver light)
As far as Search Engine is concern i have run experiments and came out with the solution that flash is not as bad as we think but one have to be very good at flash designing and programing

I changed from Flash to Javascript...
I am a website designer and I used to use a lot of Flash. I love Flash because it used vectors so it can be a small file size and I can control the loading which is fantastic. The problem is that Apple did not allow flash on their iPhones and iPads since Flash would compete with their apps (which are paid for).
So now I use Javascript and can do a lot of the same effects as I did in Flash. The only negative that I have found is that the loading isn't as easy to control, which is fine once the page is loaded.

I think that web site design is over rated. Websites need to meet minimum design standards, ie they need to be readable but after that Content is King!
If you have a flashy website and no content people will no return to it. If you have a basic website and lots of great and new content people to visit and return!

My oppinion is that the web site is efficiantly and working very well; the ppl are staying active in it and has no complainings i believe that is not neccesarly needed to do an upgrade the web site with a new face or something.
These flashy things may be not very welcomed on iphones or anything else that it is not a pc or a notebook, we may have some problems with the users!.
I know i am new here, and speaking too much , but i have a little bit of experience on web designing and i had got some complainings from the employers that the users may could get to the web site from something different.
Cheers,
Tom Jordan!

I Object... :)
Super hero comment but I simply disagree!.. I think website is always underestimated and this is the reason why most of the websites lose some serious money when it comes to Internet marketing or online marketing.
In my Opinion, websites especially when it comes to real estate should have an equal percentage of design and content. Yes content is king but what if one cannot real it or the creepy design didn
