Could you be more specific on how to make a real estate website SEO friendly? I was thinking that all sites should be SEO or at least be SEO friendly to be crawled by SE faster and easily.

SEO is a huge topic, but here are a couple of thoughts:
    - Use WordPress to develop the web site
    - Use a plugin called 'All in One SEO'
    - Just doing these two things is a good start
    - For more advanced stuff, I recommend reading: http://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/

Beyond that, it's about finding the keywords you want to target and using them throughout the text of your web site.

I'm a total believer in WordPress! Great for SEO. Here's a link to another post I put up earlier about some SEO tips:

If you were a Google engineer what would you do?

SEO is not an overnight process and it certainly takes diligence and paying attention to detail, however the payoff is fantastic. Getting indexed by Google is quite easy with the right tools and tricks. If you actually take the wordpress route as suggested earlier, another great plugin is Google Analytics if you like to track via Google.

Wordpress and Joomla are both incredible open source CMS systems. Joomla has more power and is built to scale larger projects, but I would say out of all of them Wordpress is the easiest to use.

Agreed on the Google Analytics. If you do start on SEO the first thing you want to do is get Analytics on there and see exactly how you are progressing. Being able to see traffic location and what phrases where used to get to your site is brilliant.
