Hello Everyone!
First, thanks for reading my post.
My wife and I are wanting to move to Tennessee and we have certain things that we want to know from people that actually live in Tennessee. I am almost 30 and she is in her late twenties. I am a technician and have several certifications, militiary experience and an active security clearance. I work as a contractor for the Army with SAIC. We live in Huntsville Alabama: huntsvillealabamausa(dot)com
Huntsville is known for its technical engineering presence, UAH, NASA, Redstone Aresenal and is quite the international melting pot. The views are pretty nice here with Monte Sano mountain State Park and there is a nice Interstate highway that runs through the main part of Huntsville. We also have an International Airport here as well. Another nice thing is that we attend a really good Non-Denominational Church: therockfwc(dot)org (those seem to be the hardest to find).
Now that you know where we are coming from, here is the list of what we need to be happy living in Tennessee:
(1) Stable and Growing Job Market in Area (Preferably in the technology or computer related fields)
(2) Safe and Low-Crime Area for Family
(3) Low Air-Pollution/Clean Air (*No Paper-Plant Smells please!*)
(4) Low Real-Estate Costs and New Homes Being Built if possible
(5) Low Tax Rates and Property Tax Rates
(6) Mountain Views with State Park(s) nearby for hiking or kiyaking
(6) Good Roads (roads kept in good shape, safe and clean)
(7) Honest and Relaxed(within reason) Police Presence
(8) Respected Non-Denominational(or similar) Christian church
(9) Shopping Variety (Super-Walmart, Best Buy, HH Greg, Mall, GameStop, Target, Publix, etc)
(10) Good Restuarants or Franchises (gotta have a StarBucks! and Hardees would be nice too, lol)
(11) Concert Hall for Orchestra or Performances
(12) Nice Downtown Area
(13) Nice movie theater like "The Rave" theaters or "The Monaco" etc.
Now I know that is alot to ask for, but I know places like that exist in Tennessee. My wife and I thank you ahead of time for taking the time to research and answer this post. We are really looking forward to it and have a Blessed Day!
