debating b/w a salesperson or broker license
hey folks!
i need feedback and suggestions. i haven't studied for anything towards any RE exams because i'm debating if i should focus my time on getting a salesperson or broker license. i want to work for myself, and i'm not sure what is the best way of going about this. i've been told to get my salesperson's license first, work under someone, get some experience first, then get my broker license. i'm hesitating to go this route because since i want to eventually work for myself, i would have to get my broker license regardless. and because i'm the kind of person who doesnt' like to waste time or money, i figured a straightshot of getting my broker license would make more sense. but what do you guys think? and what would be the pros and cons of either scenario?
btw, i currently have a full-time job doing something unrelated to RE..for now. but i've always had an interest in RE, especially because my dad is a real estate broker. that's another thing, if i get a regular salesperson license i can always work under my dad. but again, i want to eventually have a practice of my own.. help!
thanks guys!
