The SEs in real estate probably more than any other profession hate duplicate content. I personally believe that the SEs have a different algo for real estate websites than they do for other industries. I would say if you have dupilcate content , either remove it or rewrite it. One area that a lot of Realtors run into for duplicate content is with glossary terms. They buy these from several websites that offer this content and hence you have more than one site with the same content.
Also real estate agents are worse than the porn industry for stealing content. I can not tell you how many times I have caught another Realtor stealing our content, I even have had competitors take content and not even remove my name or links pointing to our pages.Looking For A Real Estate Specialists in Las Vegas Check out our Las Vegas Real Estate Portal. Duplicate Content On Real Estate Sites.
It does seem as though there is a special filter in place for real estate sites. The effects of being penalized for duplicate content can be devastating, and long lasting.
Dump all duplicate content. Rewrite any of the duplicate pages that are ranked.

Not if you keep the duplicate content up, no matter what IP it is on, this will still hurt you within the SEs. As Mack stated, the SEs have what we believe more filters in place for real estate sites. Content theft if a big problem on the internet for real estate sites. The search engines have all been trying to put a stop to this. Just rewrite any pages that you believe to be duplicate content and you should be fine, if you dont want to rewrite, pull them off and do a 404 page.

Are you referring to "Duplicate" as content that also appears on someone else's site. If this is the case then almost everything you put on your site is a duplicate, i.e, multiple listings, calculators, school information, weather, etc.

Don't keep up that duplicated contents, your site might not shown on SE for long time. Though if you need it to be that way, use flash on one of those site. SE crawlers can't read those.
