Default SEO and html errors.. Help!

How important is it to fix html errors on a URL? I went to validator W3 and discovered I have 150 errors and 8 warnings. google has 66 errors and 8 warnings though, and their site seems to pop up!!

Should I even bother trying to fix it, or optimize the page as it is?

    Thanks so much,

You can do it both at the same time. Fixing the pages and optimizing it will be easier as you would only have to open the files once. It's not really difficult to fix the pages as W3C tools will already show you where the errors are.
