Here are some Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Tips and Tricks. Please share all of your tips as well!

1. Use the H1 (header) and Bold tags. Put these around your page keywords.

2. Monitor your search engine rankings and what people are using to find your website. Promote those terms.

3. Social Bookmarking - embrace it! Add social bookmarking buttons to your site so others can share your site with their

friends.

4. Proper SEO means proper keyword placement and quantity. You need to repeat your keyword on the page but not too often or

you'll get banned!

5. Use/Create a sitemap and submit to Google! This makes it easy for Google and other search engines to find your internal

pages.

6. Deep Linking is essential! Make sure you have links coming to all parts of your website, not just your main page. This

tells search engines that your content is worthwhile and many people are linking to it.

7. SEO Friendly URLs (also Search-Friendly). If your URL contains your keywords then you will instantly gain a rank boost,

without even doing anything.

8. Website Speed - Google has recently started using Website speed to help ranking position. Make sure your website is fast

in order to keep from being penalized by SEs.

9. Keywords in anchor text of links. This is important, make sure the links back to your site have the keywords you are

targeting.

10. Keep away from Flash. Flash doesn't help ranking at all since it can't be indexed properly.

11. Update Content regularly. Google and Search Engines love new content and even have special searches for it! New content

often ranks higher (For a brief period of time) than old content with hundreds of links.

12. Link Baiting - Use link baiting tactics to get others to naturally link back to your site. Write good content that

promotes this idea.
