Why is PageRank So Important to You?

I thought I'd open this thread to discuss the importance (or unimportance) of PageRank. Every month there are several threads here where people ask how to improve their PageRank. So I'd like to ask a question. Why is PageRank important to you?

Your answer could be as simple as...

It's not!

or

I read that it helps your rankings.

I'd just like to hear what people have to say. I personally don't think it's that important. As I've said many times on this forum, I've seen absolutely no correlation to my rankings/traffic and PageRank. My PR has gone down, but traffic gone up. In my opinion, PR is just a measuring stick developed by Google that reflects how many "quality" inbound links you have on your site at any given time. It's not necessarily a reflection of your potential or rankings. I do check on it from time to time out of curiosity, but that's about it.

So, I ask. Why is PageRank Important to You?

Page rank is Google's calculation that what is the probability of any web domain being visited by random web surfer Th erotically it is important to have higher PR for better traffic. But what we have observed that most of the organizations now depend over traffic from Google rather then random traffics. Still Good Page rank is important for increased monitory value of your domain and it also reduces your chances of getting banned from google and other search engines. In conclusion of the above ys it is important

I like to look at my PR as a measure of how well I am doing with my SEO. I dont see PR as being the most important. Its just nice to see PR go up for your hard work.

Pagerank is important especially to the business man..

For me high pr is sow quality of site from google. If your site don't have it than you have to improve your site more.

PR is not a important factor for SERP but quality of website is measured fro PR.

Pagerank checker can check any web-site's Google page rank. Pagerank is backlink calculation algorithm designed by Google to calculate how important a web page is. When a site links to another, it counts as a "vote" to the other site. The more vote you got, you will most likely to receive a higher page rank.

PR is not important to me, I focus on SERPS. PR is one of more then 200 factors that define your rankings.

It is one of the most important gossip of SEO that why page rank is so important, these are important just because page ranks are decide your website rankings and visibility and reputation in Google search engine.
