Link exchange is when you exchange links with another site so that you both get a backlink from each other. Although useful.. a one-way link from a targeted relevant site is much better.

It's a part of Off-page optimization. Link exchange is the method of getting back links for your website

Link exchange is beneficial for back links but if you want good backlinks so link exchange with only related websites becasue if your link is on the PR then it will surely get back links.

There are certain requirements for the link exchange to be of any value. The site you are trying to link to has to be relevant with higher PR. I have given up long ago, and I thought it was sort of out..

I rather get a one way link, it is way better than doing link exchange.

Link exchange should be done with relevant websites. 1-way links are best - you can try guest blogging, directory, article marketing to get 1-way links.

Also, if you have some resources, you can try 3-way link building as well.
