First select the best keywords. Just type in "Google Keyword Lookup" or something like that into Google.

Select the ones with a fair to medium amount of competition. If the price for adwords is high, chances are the keyword competition rate is high. If your not targeting the optimal keywords you are missing the point.

Make sure to use those keywords in your content. Image's (alt, etc.), Your links, everything on the page should utilize your keywords. Next, off page optimization and content. You probably know what to do with those. If you don't, it's pretty simple (but the vast amount of info is a reason my blog is dedicated to it). There is quite a bit of 'busy work' involved with SEO. No big secrets. Just pick one task, stick to it, and when you're done move onto the next.

Do you know who your competition is? Goto their website and they will help provide some keywords. Verify these keywords in Google's tool. Also when using Google's keyword tool, select EXACT instead of BROAD. This will provide better search data.

Also use the SEO All in One pack you have installed. The Title should have some of your keywords in it.

Engaging in SEO helps. It is a process of improving the volume and quality of a website on search engines via organic search results. Always remember to do On-Page Optimization firs (its done within your site. It is the proper use of title tags, meta tags, alt attributes, etc.) then next is Off-Page Optimization (its done outside your site. It deals with building links.)

This is the keyword tool that was mentioned:

    https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Once you get a good list of keywords from it then do a search in google like this - allintitle:keyword

Anything under 500 for sites returned is an easy keyword to target.

What that shows you is how many people are actively targeting and have probably optimized for that keyword on that web page.

Do keyword analysis and do both both on-page and off-page optimization. Select unique keywords for your site the target keywords should be present in URL, domain name, Title, description, keywords metatag, headings tag and in image alt metatags. If you guys are looking to keep up with SEO news & happenings then you should check out this new site I set up. It's basically all of the SEO sites/blogs worth reading; SEO by the sea, SeoMoz, Rountable, SE Watch, and so forth. I don't usually push my own stuff, but in this case I really thing it is helpful. So many SEO sites are old and just plain wrong. Don't make the mistake many do and get your SEO tips and advice from bad or outdated sources.

I also set it up to pull in recent threads from the popular SEO forums too. Kind of a hub for SEO. Hope it helps someone
