Marketing Locally with the Right Sign
It doesn't really matter how good your website is if its not being found by the right people. Web traffic is definitely something you want to go after, but your most important work is always going to be around the properties you're selling. So what if a home-buyer from the other side of the country can see your site? But it is obvious your listing has to be available online for people to see. I found my current house online and my real estate agent had literally no work to do in finding a home for me.
Now you can find ways to advertise locally to the listing the best way will continue to be the one that is sometimes taken for granted. That is... people walking or driving by the actual property itself. Having a sign on the property not only advertises the listing but also the franchise that is listing it. If someone sees a really attractive sign perhaps they'll want your company representing them when they need to sell their house. Signs are like miniature bill boards. If a person is in the market, likes the property, they'll stop and collect the number.
Best companies to use for real estate signs:
1. Dee Sign (I do contract work for this company)
2. Build-A-Sign (they have a really nice site)
3. Champion Signs (if you're in the CA area)
Sign companies to Avoid:
Oakley signs
I say avoid Oakley, not because they are a competitor to Deesign and I do contract work for Deesign, but because of the stories I've heard of their unscrupulous behavior AND because I personally caught them in a scam and exposed them to several major franchises. I'll detail this in a more appropriate location.
