Increase your marketing while others cut down.
This is what my broker suggested the other day. Many part timers are leaving the business as advertising and marketing gets costly and revenue shrinks.
This leaves gaps in the market that you can fill by advertising and marketing more aggressively and finding your niche.
Ads do not have to be costly, with more research you can find mediums that cost less and are very effective.
Take RealEstateMedia.ca for example. It's a niche site for Canadian agents.
With all that said, the listings we've got are not selling, sellers are willing to reduce prices, but it is not enough to sell a property.
How about investing in real estate????? not now but next year when prices are really low????

I agree to it. I think If you are a broker then should really take advantage of the market situation (deflation) and market your services with brute force.

This is the proverbial level playing field that everyone talks about. Our industry hasn't had this sort of shake out in quite some time. There will be a change of the guard. Those who buckle down and earn the mind share of their niche will prevail. I am in total agreement with your broker. I also believe you can do this without breaking the piggy bank. Best of luck to you.

I believe in this market you need to break out of the mold and come up with new avenues to explore. If you continue using the same old marketing you will continue to get the same old results.

Does craigslist as an advertising medium really work. Its low cost but is it really worth the effort?
