I don't often say this so it really is a compliment, good post, very good post. It's the best way I've seen this method written.

I always submit the blog to the 20 essential blog directories here -http://www.searchenginejournal.com/20-essential-blog-directories-to-submit-your-blog-to/5998/

Also I submit articles through article directory. Usually I reword the articles for each submission, change the title a bit, and use different pen names just in case google is catching the duplicate content through those means.

All the while I am doing this I am commenting on blogs and searching for local forums that allow signatures.

For those unfamiliar with Page Rank, its a measurement used by Google to rank sites. Google takes into consideration the back links of a web page in this ranking system.

If you have a web page, your site's back links are those links from other sites that lead to yours.

I think that stating PageRank determines if your website is a success is false. It's been proven that it can be wrong and quite frequently isn't a good indicator. It is used by many still and that is why it is still important.

A follow-up to my earlier post.

I've been watching my phrases, and two of the ten have made it to page three or four. The others are anywhere from page six to page ninety.

One phrase--Indiana Mortgage Lenders--is now #6. I've been helping it move up from #28 by getting more links to it. Kentucky Mortgage Lenders is about #35 or so, and I'll see what more links does for that.

If the Indiana page stays in the top ten (with help), I'll be very, very impressed with this technique.

The mentioned technique is good but as you mentioned earlier, it cannot stand alone for the long run, it must be supported by additional link building effort from other types of links like blog comments, articles, forums etc.

Interesting technique, but I suspect that the gains will be short lived

A good post and well written, I have to say writing 500-1000 word articles is difficult for me.

You can outsource the article writing and even the submissions. Outsourcing will allow you to concentrate on managing your business and not on time consuming tasks that will drain your energy.

An update to my update. "Indiana mortgage lenders" has slipped to #8 or #9, depending upon the datacenter being accessed. Other phrases have slipped a few spots to a few pages.

It looks like this technique is a good way to get Google's attention, but holding the rankings requires continued work. This would be a good job to outsource to link monkeys.
