Plenty of great ideals
1. get a signature with every forum - this allows you to put a link in every post to your site
2. learn about SEO "Search Engine Optimization"
3. PPC Pay Per CLick is you are selling houses, not just to get people to a site, because it's not worth it unless you are selling houses or going to make big money.
4. Social Media Networking - Forums, leave comments on blogs, stumble upon, digg, etc. This accounts for 80% of my traffic.Proinvestorsblog - Blog About Making Money

Very good points that you bring up. Are there other good forums that you like to subscribe to? This forum is very helpful, are there others as good? Just wondering. Thanks.

The social networking sites and social bookmarking sites are excellent sources for getting a lot of traffic that is consistent. I think these types of sites are only going to improve in the near future. As far as other methods go, I would stay away from paid links, unless you are doing it individually and only to other high quality websites. Google could penalize you if they find out you bought a ton of links at one time.

Re: Driving traffic
I think the best way is to get a bunch of links from relevant sites pointing towards your website.
If your site is new, it will take a while to start ranking well. Maybe six months to two years. But start working on it now.Search the Orlando MLS for free to locate homes throughout the central Florida region. Are you looking for an Orlando Refinance specialist? Click on the following link if you are in need of an Orlando Short Sales expert. Alternatively, you may post your Orlando FL Home for Free if you are looking to sell your home without an agent.

Get your site listed on the DMOZ. That will help a lot.
Also make sure your site will Validate with HTML validators. You want to use preferably CSS and very little if any tables in your code. Maybe post your website address and we can review it.

Consult with a good local web optimization company that can deliver results. It can be tricky when selecting the right company. Ask for references. If you want to get quick results, consider using the sponsored ads. This can be a very effective short-term solution if done right. Some companies specialize in this service. However, depending on how competitive it is in your market, this can be rather expensive.

Given that everyone here will give you suggestions about how to promote your site on the web, I will give you a few other suggestions.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT NON-INTERNET ADVERTISING.
We get a tremendous amount of direct traffic due to our non-internet marketing. Yard signs, sponcering charity events, newpaper advertising, word-of-mouth, etc.
It's good to have a balanced advertising profolio. That way you are not placing all your eggs in one basket.Neal M - HouseViewOnline(TM), HouseView(TM)
