Exclamation How to use your Facebook Page a successful marketing tool

    Hello All,

It seems everyday we hear more and more how important it is to market on Facebook. But no one ever gives any practical advice so I wanted to share a few ideas and see what you think.

People go to Facebook for one of 2 things: 1) entertainment and 2) information. That's right it's all about them and has nothing to do with you. To be heard you must be relevant to your network. Never shamelessly self promote.

So what do you do? Start off by finding relevant common ground and provide great content. When users enjoy your content they will not only start engaging but will also start helping you spread the word.

    Here's an example:

I sell Homes in High Park. I have great listings in the area. I post these listing everyday on my wall with BIG FONT SAYING BUY NOW! GREAT DEAL! WON'T LAST! The usual response to this is little or nothing. In fact studies have shown that after 5 posts that are based on a sales pitch friends and fans are likely to disconnect with you.

I sell homes in High Park. I have great listings in the area. I have a showroom of these listing on my page but rarely speak of it. Instead I create a page about the area. On this page I become the expert. I speak about local events, news, great places to eat and shop. I let my fans know through my CONTENT that I love what they love.... the HIGH PARK neighborhood. I become a relevant source of Information and Entertainment. I can engage in dialogue and offer advice. All the time building relationships and trust.

We may need to hunt in order to eat today but we should always be planting seeds and farming to make it easier to eat tomorrow.

    I hope this helps

No doubt Facebook is powerful social networking platform where you can share information at the same time effective marketing tool that ease of use. As you've mentioned people turn on to this site with two main reason for entertainment (more on their personal side) and information (inclusive of information and other stuffs) Indeed the second aspect which is information could have a wide scope of advantage and business is one of the primary beneficiaries of it where they can create apps such as events, games, contests etc. for the purpose of gaining popularity and fans among Facebook users and later on convert them into customers. Great sharing, thanks for this pieces of information

Content is the key. You need to engage users with a lot of new contents.
