Definitely a nice tip. The question is, how were you able to only get local results with Google Alerts? My Google Alerts sends me articles and new blog entries affiliated with my keywords from across the country.
If there is a way to limit your results to your local area, that would be great. I never even thought about that... definitely something I will have to look into

Those are good results and that sounds like the thing to do. Let me offer that I have used several online PR web services and those links hang around for what seems like years - PRWEB and the like are very good

google alerts is a good way to keep a eye on your main KW's

It's amazing the amount of useful tools Google provides to webmasters for free that can help you increase traffic and eventually make more money as well. Google alerts is one of the best tools they offer. Thanks for the great information!
