Question Purchasing Mailing Lists - Any experience?

    Hi all,

Has anyone ever purchased a real estate mailing list? We're looking at
purchasing a list of real estate office contacts from Data Depot and were
wondering if anyone may have experience from this or other contact list
    providers?

If so, did you receive many bounces or returned mail?

    Thanks for your input!
    Pam

No, i haven't try doing that. Why don't you create a squeeze page where visitors can subscribe to something , asking for their emails, collect it, and send them mass email.

Thanks for the idea. We certainly will be doing that but we also wanted to send out a direct mail piece and would love to do it as soon as possible. We figured purchasing a mailing list might be the quickest way to do that. However, we'd like to ensure that the lists are worth purchasing so thought I'd ask.

    Cheers,
    Pam

That's a bad idea. You want to collect them from your website instead. Mailing lists, no matter what the seller tells you, will be seen as spam and that's bad for your domain. If enough of the recipients complain, your domain will get black listed and you'll play he** trying to get off of it. While on it, you'll miss a ton of emails coming into your business and thus you'll miss sales.
