It's true. Ezinearticles, can bring a lot of traffic, but articles should be interesting.

Article marketing is one of the most effective and cheapest way to promote anything online.

But when doing article marketing, be wary of duplicate content; especially if you were submitting to quality ezines like Ezinearticles. Ezinearticles won't accept your articles if you use articles you have posted to N number of sites.

Yea, I have used articles for A LONG TIME. Here is a few things that I have learned that have helped me:

1. Hire someone to write your content for you. I pay people about $8 an article (good quality). I go to outsourcing sites and find them.

2. Put the article on YOUR SITE first. Let it get indexed by google and then stick it on all the other article sites on the net. This way YOU get credited with the original content and don't have to worry about getting kicked off google for having duplicate content.

The duplicate content myths have been blown way out of proportion. The internet is about the sharing of information, duplicate content is everywhere!
The main point of using article marketing with sites such as Ezine etc is to place links with keyword rich anchor text that is related to the article to help boost your natural search rankings for search terms you want to rank for. That really is the main point! Getting traffic is just a bonus!

You hit it right on the head. The biggest thing is the anchor text and backlink. The better the article you write, also the more chance of people picking it up and then you getting additional links.

Yea guys! Your right... But I'll tell you about something I did that BOMBED! I hired someone to put my articles with text links on over 200 ezine/article sites and a year later I only got like 2 backlinks and so far no traffic. The reason was, everyone is doing it and your articles get put on pages so deep on the article site that google won't give it page rank & the people don't see it.

A great place to get good backlinks from your articles & get some traffic is pay the money at prweb.com - Try using a catchy title and make the article somewhat interesting & it could get picked up by other media outlets + your going to get backlinks from just the prweb.com posting.

Whats the about cost for prweb.com ?

I would also ad that if you are writing articles for ezines then you shoud be sure to ad anchor text that points toward the key words that you are trying to optimize for. Shortly after adding this strategy I gained front page of google for my keywords.
