Default Half Off Advertising: Try Remnant

Check out this article on Yahoo about how to use Remnant Ads. Remnant Ads are regular Ad spaces on regular advertising outlets that haven't been filled up.

Kind of like flying stand-by, they will lose money if the spot is empty so they give it away shortly before it will run for a lot cheaper.

This can save you a lot of cash and get you results that are just as good.

Nope, I haven't tried it out yet. My company is launching in September so I haven't had the need to yet. I thought it may be useful, especially in negotiation for agents or other professionals who use print advertisements. Although, if I was use to Remnant it would be for online ads. I know that Hotmail even gives paying customers free adspace if they haven't booked someone to take it over.

You probably won't hear about it being advertised because advertisers always want to get the most bang for their buck. If you're interested in buying a specific spot ask them what kind of deal they can offer you and then ask them if they have any remnant ads kicking around because their ads are a bit out of your budget. In that case, they might think you know what you're talking about and give you some good deals, or they might just lower the cost of their other ads to sell them to you. Never hurts to ask.
