How efficient and helpful is craigslist for listing homes for sale? Does it generate good business? Is it worth the time??

3 years back when I search for apartment to rent I found it there. I would recommend it.

I havent really heard much about craigslist recently, are they still doing well, bearing in mind I am from the United Kingdom? I was also thinking of using it.

Yes for me. I post regurarly on CL and get good traffic, decent leads, even few phone calls from there...
Definitely worth it IMO...

In big city's sections of Craig's List, there are tons of listings. Since so many people are listing their properties on it, it must have some value. Plus, it is free - nothing to lose. As to success rate, no one knows. Craig's List has a section for users to tell their success stories - people have bought just about everything there. But, you have to take these stories with a grain of salt.
There have been so many reports that Craig's List is a breeding ground for all sorts of scams.Fractional Ownership - Luxury Vacation Homes for Real Estate Fractional Home Ownership

They have several million daily visitors! I am sure realtors could get benefited out of that. To get better results you have to post periodically in my opinion.

I love anything Free. Anything that is free, even if it doesn't result in a sale, gets your name out there. I would only recommend it if you live in a city of 100,000 or more in population, unless you live in the west.

Add your postings to as many sites as possible. You will only have a better chance of selling it.
