    Smile Closing Gifts

    Few questions:
    1. Do you give closing gifts?
    2. If yes, what?

Would a closing gift consisting of a gift basket to present at closing that contained move in neccessities like: shower curtain, light bulbs, Advil, first aid kit, laundry detergent etc.. interest you?

Price point would be $25 (small) or $50 (large)

    Thanks for your help!

Depends on the clients. Gift cards are great. But for my tech savvy buyers a nice digital picture frame. You can find them under $100 and I upload some house pictures and my bus card in gif. Families really like it, and it keeps me on their minds.

Default A Simple Basket is enough

    Hi,
I just got done posting on another blog on the very same topic. We have a realtor that we have always used who will give us a basket of Wine and wine glasses. She has also given us a beautiful basket filled with a gorgeous house plant. The Shower curtain is a cute idea but not something that most people would probably use. You take a huge gamble that it won't match their bathroom color and decor. A plant can go anywhere. A bottle of wine or bubbly apple cider is a safe bet and sure to be used upon moving in.

    Good Luck!

have a look at this thread

it offers you the ability to provide customers a cruise package for 2 adults which will cost you only $150 per customer.

Travel tends to be a memorable and invited incentive.

I've done gift baskets and gift cards...
Example - one family I gave a gift card to a pricey restaurant they had mentioned they really liked. So...a date night for mom and dad. For the kids, I put together a basket of popcorn and candy along with a Blockbuster gift card for a movie night in.

For other clients I have typically bought gift cards to home improvement stores and have also bought gift certificates on house cleaning services.

My range was typically from $100 - $500 depending on the price point of the home and whether I got two deals (purchase and a listing) from the client, etc.

My realtor got us a "Little Giant" ladder. It's my favorite. I've used that thing more than I thought I would, kind of different, but really useful!

    Default restaurant gift card

Usually by the time someone closes you have spent a lot of time with them so you should have a good idea of great restaurant they would like. I think a gift card to a restaurant is always a good idea.

    Default Closing Package

We have a 2 part closing gift package.

3 weeks before the moving date we send out Change Of Address Moving cards (business card size) with a picture of the clients new house, their new address, and of course, our information on the back of the card. Our clients love these and hand them out to all of their friends. We also include a $50 gift certificate to have the locks changed at their new house and several keys with our branding etched on them (we have an agreement with the locksmith so that we only get charged if they use the service).

On moving day we deliver a gift bag with a pack of our own personalized water bottles and a gift certificate to order pizza for the moving party. We also include a set of Branded Cutco knives or a gift certificate for Home Depot or a department store.

Occasionally we will determine that the client has special needs, and forgo our traditional moving package for something more personal, such as cleaning services are the new or old house, packing assistance, junk removal, etc.

Some very cool items in your closing gifts "package," Tyler! I esp like the locksmith gift certificate that doesn't cost you a dime unless used. Ultra smart!!
