    Default Getting promotional materials

I am hoping this is in the proper forum. Anyhow, I get offers all the time in my email telling me about free offers for promotional materials that I could use as far as prospecting and generating leads for myself. Let's say I get my license, but I have yet to hang my license with a broker, these promotional materials will have my name and contact information (business cell phone number I have set up for myself, generic business email I have set up for myself, etc.)

is there anything unethical/illegal about sending out this type of info. to individuals as far as at least announcing that I am now licensed and am ready to assist them with their buying needs? I know that when you are actually hanging your license with a broker, you have to have their name/logo on your business card/promo material. How does that work if you are licensed, but yet to have your license hanging with a broker?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give on this subject...

Yes you have to include your broker's name and information in all of your marketing materials. In fact, it has to be more prominent than your information.

If you don't have your license yet, maybe try sending out a letter or postcard or something to your SOI informing them that you'll soon be getting your license and you'd like for any future referrals that they could send you. Then once you get your license and choose your broker, you can start sending out "official" marketing materials.

well these materials would be postcards, unofficial that basically are not advertising a specific property...just basically informing that I help sell, rent or buy, along with my email address and phone number...would that be alright since I have yet to affiliate with a broker?

Sometimes, some emails that we receive with regard on traffic generating techniques and methods are fraud and just a spam message. They offered you tools which is not effective in your marketing campaign.

You have to include your brokers name and details as well.

Default Are you trying to get work before you get your license?

It is kinda' hard to say, Mrssea. What kind of clients are you looking to serve without your license? I would probably not waste money on promotional materials before obtaining a broker. You also never know what promo materials they have to offer.
