MySpace as a marketing method???
I am curious to know if anyone uses MySpace as a marketing method. If so, what kind of leads are generated? Do you use it for listings? Or, do you use it primarily to drive traffic to another website?
Is this a big waste of time?
I would like to hear any and all sides.
Thanks in advance!

Personally it's a waste of time, I have it listed for my business "Nationwide Banc" and I've generated ZERO leads. Myspace is too much of a younger "kid" marketing (DJ/Clubs/etc) not for a professional institution IMO.

I personally disagree with those that say it's not for professionals. Yes, it is geared toward a younger generation, however, if you search for the right people, you will find leads.
I have a very professional page set up and to add friends, I search for newlyweds and those with young children, basically ones that seem like they would be in the market for thier first home.
I post blogs almost daily with tons of useful information for those on my friends list. So far, I only have 1 soft lead, but if I infiltrate thier brains enough, when they hear Real Estate, they will think of me.

In my experience, there are better ways to spend the time than myspace for real estate purposes.
Good luck to those who can make it work for their business...

Myspace is a wankers site now that money is involved. I can't say enough bad things about it. don't waste your time.

While MySpace may not be a great lead generator... it does have some other uses. For example, I've been using the Blogging feature to post articles with backlinks to my main marketing sites where I do capture leads. Plus, the backlinks are picked up by Google and other search engines to improve your main site rankings.

This might sound like a silly question, but how are you putting links into your blogs and/or on your actual MySpace page? I tried just doing http://www.PeachStatePropertyBuyers.com, but it doesn't make a clickable link. Thanks!

I'm not able to show you how because I cannot post links yet. I will try to PM you the code to do so.
