    Default Advertising other listings

I am new to this business and want to advertise, but have no listings. I was told by Real Estate Book that I can use other agents listings and put in my contact info; therefore, giving them free advertising and getting my name out. Is this really aloud? I know that I can take an mls listing and distribute it and say "Homes like these are available", but can I put one of these listings on my website, newspaper, magazine, etc? What are the guidelines for this type of advertising?

    Default Using other agents listings

It depends on the rules and regulations of your board. In most cases, you can use the listings of other agents with their brokers approval. On the listing, you can't say, listed by, but can say offered by.

What I have told new agents in the past is approach an agent in your office who has listings you would like to sell and ask their permission to promote their listings. The agents who get it will of course say yes. Some agents however don't get that you are offering them free advertising.

    Good Luck.

my opinion, does it work yes! but you have to do it in a target market. showing your sphere of influence or farming area you have listing perfect. website too, now general newspaper its expensive and your turn around is not worth it espacially if their not your listing.

Yes it depends on the rules for you area. In most cases, you are allowed to post other agents listings as long as you put the name of the listing agency along with it.
