Default A "how to stage your home" seminar

I posted this in another section but figured I'd ask here in the marketing folder as well

Anyone heard of one? I was just thinking that we could offer it maybe monthly in our real estate papers and have potential sellers come to learn how to dress and stage their homes. I think people would come and listen and try to learn things, dont you? Maybe get a proffessional stager, or even a decorator to come and help. We would just be there to offer any helpful real estate info. What do you think? Stupid? Already been done? any success?

    Hi Briggsy13,

I tried to check your webpage to see what you do, but I wasn't able to access it.

But as a Stager myself, I can tell you that if you are a Real Estate Agent, adding a home stager to your team is an excellent idea. Find a stager (or two) in your area, interview them and add them to your team of service providers. Have them provide you with information and marketing materials and arrange to have them meet with your listing clients.

Stagers are trained and have the talent to speak with your clients about their homes in ways that will respect their property and will take you out of the uncomfortable position of having to discuss what needs to be done to make their homes market ready. A stager will provide you and your client with a complete staging report that you can hand to your client and you can say "look, this is what the professional says, not me".

If the home is vacant, a home stager can provide everything that is needed to give it the "wow" that it needs to get it sold.

Having a class is a great idea too, but it will only give the sellers general information, which is fine if your plan is to simply generate interest. If you really want your listings to shine and stand out from the others, do your research. Find some qualified, experienced and reliable stagers in your area and make them part of your team.

I've been very impressed with a some homes that I have seen after being staged. I think a seminar would be a good idea.

The seminar sounds like a great idea. We have a lady as part of one of our teams and she makes quite a difference on our listings.

    Default Not as of yet!

I have not done it yet. I did bring up the idea with my Broker and his response was that the problem would be getting people to come. Just like our ideas for a home buyers seminar. It is a great concept but getting people to show up is the hard part. We don't really have the money for extensive advertising so that really limits us. If you have any ideas on that please share!!
    Thanks!

    Sara,

I have not done this myself, but getting a home owners association to sponsor a seminar might work. Given enough time, they could post the announcement in their newsletter, provide the conference room, etc.

    Just a thought.
