Unbundled Real Estate Services
I'd like to know if any readers are currently using the business model of unbundled or fee for service, also known as menu marketing as a different way of pricing real estate services.
If so - can you explain how Realtors make money in this model? Nowhere on-line do they get to the nitty gritty.

You will have to make up for it in volume. If you go the route of discount, you will need to have excellent sytems in place so you don't loose site of customer service.

There is a well known agency here in Alpharetta that's kicking our butts with that model.

Have you had the pleasure of doing business with them? I have. Let's just say that people get what they pay for with "D" if you know what I mean

Yes I have had that pleasure. Heh..... Did you know that they post your name and company on their website if you sell their listing? The way it is presented is to make consumers believe that we support their system. If you want, send me a private email and I'll send you the link. They've done a fine job of burying it on the site in just the right place.

Here in Michigan it's not even an issue but I'm reading about it on the coasts and want to understand it. Typically we see the wave but ignore it . . . then do a quick recon when we realize we are knee deep in an outdated business model. Which is a broker issue, granted, but as an agent I'd just like to understand.
So what you're saying is they are kicking your butt - but how specifically are they? Are customers so enthralled with saving money that they are rushing in droves?
Why is that so? How does the business model work and why would a consumer go for it? Just wondering . . . .
