    Default How to cold call

So I've always heard some Realtors grab a phone book at start calling people. Is that what people really do or is there a way to sort so your calls hit the right areas like certain neighborhoods.

Also how so some of you start you conversations?

Write a script if you are going to cold call. It will help with your confidence and the way you sound over the phone.

    Default Cold-calling

The key to cold-calling is not to ask for business (e.g. "Do you want to sell your home?") but to start building a relationship.

True, most people don't want to hear from realtors, because
    (a) they're not in the market right now, and
    (b) realtors have often given themselves a bad name.

But, many people are interested in getting something genuinely useful for free. E.g. a booklet explaining the top 7 ways to prepare their home for sale so it gets the best price, or something similar. Of course, whatever you're offering has to be quality and value.

Realtors often fail because the don't invest in their business at the time of start-up. If you start by establishing relationships, through cold-calling and other means, you're more likely to stay in the industry, and be ultimately successful.
