Default Should I Do a Monthly Newsletter?

    Hey all,

I'm looking to keep connected with my potential clients, and was thinking about creating a monthly newsletter to keep in touch with them. Do you think keeping up with clients by sending out a monthly newsletter is a good idea? Do any of you use one? I'm really just trying to get an idea of different marketing tactics to use.

    Default newsletter!

    Hi, HB10

What needs to be taken into consideration is the fact that there are 2 main categories of real estate clients. The ones that buy property to live in, and others that are looking for an investment.

A regular newsletter will help you weed out the one time buyers from the investors as the 1 timers will not be interested in subscribing to your newsletter. Eventually your mailing list will be full of genuine investors.

If you build you newsletter around a theme (ie an specific neighborhood, audience) You could also build a business page on Facebook and post it there as well. The great thing about Facebook is that as you build your following you can have continued and ongoing dialogue, and the opportunity to organically build your list through quality content.

That sure is a good idea. It also shows that you give importance to your clients by giving them monthly newsletter. This could mean them coming back for more from you and that they may be referring your website to other users too.

Newsletters and blogs are among the two thing you can both add on your website.

I agree with above. I think you'll build up a solid base of investor-types as they will always want to be on top of everything available.

Newsletters are great in theory. But they are very hard to do right.

It is very hard to always be coming up with new real estate newsletter content on your own. The right way to do one is to spend the money to subscribe to a service that will produce a monthy housing industry one for you.

I'd rather recommend you to make use of Blog subscriptions rather than newsletters, since blogs are quite more diverse and easy to offer to most clients and people.

    Hey Housebuyer,

Doing an online real estate blog might be a better choice as opposed to a traditional "newspaper". There are a lot of great ones out there to look for examples - and most everyone agrees that "Content is King." Hope this helps.
