I've heard good things about both of them! There's already an established group who use Facebook. Twitter is kind of the new frontier of sorts

Both Facebook and Twitter are social network sites designed to allow users to connect with other users over the Internet. Facebook users connect with other users by searching for users using the Facebook search option and adding the users as friends. Similarly, Twitter users search for other Twitter users and connect with them by following their Twitter accounts.

Both sites are great for connecting with potential clients. Definitely use both! Couldn't hurt, right? However, Twitter is strictly for status updates. Sure, you can post links that lead to other sites etc. But Facebook has more apps. You can ask your friends questions in a poll type format, create ads to generate leads, become a recognizable face for your business, and so much more! If people are searching the internet for realtors in their area and your name comes up, you can bet that they will look you up on Facebook.

It depends on how you are going to use them Socially, both are good. You get to have fun when you Facebook with others and it is cool to share tweets too. The good news is that you can now connect the two websites and have your FB post be shown in Twitter and vice versa.

In terms of connecting it to your business, some niche finds success with it and some don't. People go to this places to socialize and not to purchase products or services. They are a good way of a point of contact though for your sites.

Facebook is the place to grow and nurture communities. It gives you the ability to know who is interested in your products and services and allows you to target that community.
Twitter is all about messaging. Messages go to your followers, but are easily accessible by everyone. Twitter is a goldmine of information and there is no need to ever send a tweet to leverage the data in Twitter.

We use both sites. Personally, I like the quick and easy functionality of Twitter. But, I will agree that Facebook is more helpful for developing dialogue with people. So I think they go hand in hand.

Both are great sites for marketing, without a doubt. I would definitely recommend using both! The thing about Facebook though is how many different things you can use it for, whereas Twitter is cool and fun for just status updates. Use the 2 sites in 2 different ways to keep your friends and followers interested!

LinkedIn in my opinion beats facebook and twitter hands down. If you arfe promoting your real estate services you must have LinkedIn.
