Default New Real Estate Marketing Community

    Longtime lurker, first-time poster.

I'd be interested in some feedback from this crew. I'm part of a team that has put together housingstorm.com.

It is in beta. The goal is to bring local consumers and real estate pros together, discussing local housing markets and what's happening in local communities. So far, we have just under 1,000 members, but we're growing well.

Obviously we need more members, but I'd also love to hear what you guys think of the concept and format.

    Thanks!

Think the concept is a good idea and website looks clean, but think it resembles twitter a bit too much. When I first got to the site, I thought I was on twitter initially just because the layout, background image etc are very very similar. Going back to the concept and business model of it (based of the brief info you explained) it would probably do well if marketed correctly and if you have around 1K members right now then you're doing pretty well. The only thing I'd say is that the layout and design is too close to twitter for my taste, but if you want more regarding the actual layout and web design I believe there is a website review section in the forum you may want to post it in. Hope all is well.

    Default Website to connect?

It's a good idea but... hasn't it been done? What's the draw?

Although Trulia and Zillow are not the best sites (from a realtor's point of view) because they're kinda cramping our style... they have the community feedback section. A lot of people are drawn in to those.

Just to give you info that I think would help... you need to find a reason for people to go there and promote it, otherwise you'll never bring down those giants.

Here's an idea to get realtor's wanting to promote your site... find a way to give them some seo link juice for selected keywords. Ask some realtor's what other ideas you might get... then go to some buyer's and see what would get them excited about joining and promoting for you.

    Them's my thoughts... Good Luck!!

Maximum reach to all home buyers looking for a home in that specific real estate marketplace. The real estate marketing includes creating a market evaluation of the property to price the home to sell, staging the home, great photography, & strategic advertising depending on what kind of home is being sold and where it is located.

Hmm. If I were to ask in putting such website for real estate industry, I guess it would be good to start a website with a good breakdown of the basics in real estate industry plus a news page so that readers will have ideas on what's going on in the real estate industry.
