Default Banners on website is good?

It is helpful to have your own banner adverts on your
website with the proper codes available for others to use
    and take?

Yes, it's a good idea to have a banner. Even better idea to have some sort of embeddable code that someone who wants to link to you can just copy & paste into their own site.

There are sites out there that will let you create a banner on the fly using their software and can generate the graphic and html code for you.

If you have a little know-how you could create your own with graphic editing software like Adobe Photoshop.

You could try submitting your banner to various Realty sites as well as creating graphic Ads that display on Google via Pay-Per-Click.
