    Default Question about Listings Website

    Hello all,

I am not really familiar with the laws and regulations governing Real Estate, especially in NY state, and I had an idea that related greatly to real estate listings so I thought this might be a good place to come and ask my questions. Any insight or advice anyone might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

So my basic question is; If there was a locally centric website out there for your community that focused on drawing businesses to the area, and one component of this website was to allow commercial realtors to post up specific listings and their own contact information would this be a service realtors would be interested in? Is it even legal, or does the business entity acting as the listor have to be registered or licensed somehow. If all listing were free except for a price for premium listings would that violate any additional rules or regulations.

    Thanks again in advance!

Depending on what value you can bring to the table there may be a market for such a website. You are not the one selling the home so you won't need to be licensed. (Even Craigslist has homes for sale and I am sure no one is licensed there)
